Creating Pathways from the Streets to Independence
At AKHIN Africa, we create safe and inclusive learning spaces for street-connected and out-of-school youngsters aged 12 – 23. Through rehabilitation, education, vocational training, and community reintegration, we support young people in breaking cycles of exclusion and building independent futures.
Why “AKHIN”?
AKHIN means resilience, courage, fearlessness, and independence in Yoruba, qualities every young person deserves the chance to embody.
Our mission is to create inclusive learning spaces for street and out-of-school youngsters in Africa, empowering them through rehabilitation, education, and vocational and entrepreneurial training to break the cycle of poverty
An Africa where every youngster has access to alternative learning spaces to discover, develop, and explore their potential.
All youngsters aged 12 to 23 in Africa who are out of school or living on the streets, regardless of their gender, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.

About Our Work
AKHIN Africa is a social impact nonprofit organization supporting street-connected and out-of-school youth in Nigeria through rehabilitation, education, vocational training, and community reintegration.
We work with youngsters aged 12 to 23 who are living on the streets or excluded from formal education, including orphans, survivors of abuse, and youth from marginalized communities.
AKHIN Africa operates in Nigeria, with active programs in Ibadan and Soku in Oyo State, Okuku in Osun State, and Lagos.
We provide safe residential spaces, psychosocial rehabilitation, education or vocational training, mentorship, and long-term transition support toward independence.
